Ma’wa Collective Chamonix Summit Scholarship for Muslim Women
Calling all Muslim women! Have you ever imagined the feeling of standing at the base of the Alps, lacing up your boots as the morning sun hits the snow-capped peaks, filled with excitement, contentment, and connection? Picture yourself surrounded by Muslim women in one of the most iconic mountain towns, encouragement from each other along the trails as you take one step after another towards breathtaking views. If you love hiking but never had the chance to hike internationally before, this is your chance to experience the wonder, strength, and connection that hiking brings in one of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world.
The Summit Scholarship Foundation is partnering with Ma’wa Collective to offer a fully funded spot on Ma’wa’s Chamonix: Adventure in the Alps trip - an international experience created for Muslim women who are curious, courageous, and ready to reconnect with nature, sisterhood, and themselves on the trails in the French Alps.
This Summit Scholarship includes the expedition fee for Ma’wa’s Chamonix Experience, a $1000 travel stipend to help offset travel costs, top-notch trail footwear from LOWA Boots, high-quality active attire from Fjällräven, a backpack from Deuter, and more.
The total value of this scholarship is >$4,500.

Where France meets both Italy and Switzerland, Chamonix offers hiking for every level, from gentle valley paths to high mountain trails. A plethora of walks begin directly in town, within easy reach of comfortable accommodations, while taking you to different corners of the valley, revealing new scenery and perspectives with every step. Chamonix is the ultimate home base for exploring classic hiking trails with some of the most spectacular mountain views in the world.

This group trip for Muslim Women is focused on connection, growth, and adventure. It’s the ideal way to experience the very best of Chamonix at a comfortable, unhurried pace.
We are staying a week with a breathtaking backdrop of the French Alps, and our days will be spent exploring iconic hiking trails and while our evenings will be in cozy mountain chalets. Each day’s walk begins within easy reach of your accommodation.
You’ll enjoy guided day hikes through alpine meadows, glacial valleys, and charming mountain paths, hiking comfortably for 2–3 hours at a time with plenty of breaks to rest, take photos, and take in the views.
You’ll have time to slow down and explore the cozy town of Chamonix, sharing stories over warm meals, and finding inspiration in both nature and sisterhood.

No multi-day hiking experience is required. However, you are expected to be able to hike 3-4 hours in the day and this adventure may not be suitable for anyone with chronic knee, back, heart, respiratory conditions, or for those who are recovering from recent injuries or surgeries.
