These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in the Summit Scholarship Foundation scholarship program (the “Program”). By submitting an application, applicants agree to these Terms.

  1. Eligibility
The Program is open to all individuals who identify as women or gender-diverse and who are interested in transformative outdoor adventure opportunities. There are no restrictions based on nationality, residency, financial status, or previous outdoor experience. Applicants under the age of 18, or under the age of majority in their place of residence, may apply freely. If selected, such applicants must provide written consent from a parent or legal guardian to accept the scholarship and participate in any associated expedition or activity. Employees, board members, and immediate family members of the Summit Scholarship Foundation or its affiliates are not eligible to apply.

  2. Application Process
Applications must be submitted through the official platform by the stated deadline. Incomplete applications or those that do not follow the stated guidelines may be disqualified. Applications will be anonymized for review. Personally identifying information will be removed prior to review by the selection committee, although applicants may choose to include self-identification within their essays at their discretion. Submission of an application does not guarantee selection.

  3. Selection
Recipients will be chosen at the sole discretion of the Summit Scholarship Foundation’s review committee, based on review of submitted essays and other application materials. Selection decisions are final and not subject to appeal. The Foundation reserves the right to withhold or withdraw an award if false or misleading information is provided.

  4. Scholarship Award
Scholarships are non-transferable and have no cash value. Recipients must agree to comply with all safety, legal, and expedition partner requirements. Failure to provide required documentation (including parent or guardian consent for minors) or to comply with program guidelines may result in forfeiture of the scholarship.

  5. Liability and Risk
Participation in outdoor adventure activities involves inherent risks, including risk of injury, illness, and accident. The Summit Scholarship Foundation is not responsible or liable for any loss, injury, or damage sustained in connection with participation in activities supported by the scholarship. Recipients may be required to sign additional waivers or releases provided by expedition partners.

  6. Data Protection and Privacy
Personal data will be handled in compliance with applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR. Application data will be anonymized for review. By applying, applicants consent to the collection, processing, and use of their information for the purposes of administering the Program.

  7. Publicity and Storytelling
By submitting an application, applicants consent to the Foundation’s use of anonymized essays, quotes, and aggregated statistics for reporting, marketing, and fundraising purposes. If selected, recipients may be invited (but are not required) to provide testimonials, photos, or updates for storytelling purposes. Any such participation will be voluntary.

  8. Program Administration
The Summit Scholarship Foundation reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the Program at any time. These Terms are governed by the laws of the state of Utah, USA. The Program is void where prohibited by law.
