Our Mission
Our goal is to advance gender equity on and off the mountain.
The Summit Scholarship was originally created by women in order to break down barriers for women in the big mountain realm. With gender equity at the heart of our mission, we don’t stop there: through transformative outdoor experiences we strive to empower all marginalized genders which includes women and non-cis genders.
Through the Summit Scholarship…
…we provide funding for women to participate in extraordinary all-women mountaineering expeditions, skill-building trips and stepping stone experiences. We also provide funding for gender-diverse individuals to access inclusive, immersive backcountry experiences.
